Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES)
Real Estate Broker and Attorney at Law
A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) is a REALTOR® who is uniquely qualified to assist seniors in housing sales and purchases. The SRES® designation is awarded only to REALTORS® who have successfully completed a series of educational courses on how to help seniors and their families with later-in-life real estate transactions.
Colorado has some of the most complex and restrictive real estate laws in the U.S. It is wise to choose a trusted real estate broker with extensive experience.
It easy to get into real estate, but very hard to succeed. For example, in Colordo a new agent must be 18 years old, take some classes, pass the real estate test with a 75% score, pass an FBI background check, and then pay large fees to the Real Estate Commision, the MLS, and to a licensed “Managing Broker” who usually gets a large chunk of any commissions earned.
This qualifies the new agent to sell what is often the most valuable asset someone may own – his or her home.
Is it any wonder, then, that the National Association of Realtors statistics show that 88% of new agents leave the business within the first 5 years; almost 1/3 within the first year.
